General Instructions

  • Papers and posters should be related to Paediatrics and its subspeciality.
  • All Submissions to be uploaded at online portal of conference website: www.nzpedicon-harcon2024.com
  • Also send a copy to email id of conference at: nzpediconharcon2024@gmail.com
  • For submissions in Award categories including Best thesis Award -Presenting author should be a registered delegate of the conference, should be Member of CIAP and the research work implemented in any institution of IAP north zone. Contestants should not be of more than 35 years of age as on 9th November 2024.Thesis completed on and after 1 st January 2022 only will be accepted.
  • For Free Paper and E-Poster : Presenting author should be a registered delegate of the conference, one of the author/co-authors should be Member of CIAP and the work should have been done in any institution of India
  • Time for oral presentation will be 8 minutes followed by 3 minutes for answering questions asked by panel of judges.
  • No delegate can present more than one paper in same category (although delegate can present multiple paper/posters in different categories).
  • The screening committee will evaluate the submitted papers for their inclusion in either an ‘oral presentation’ or ‘e-poster presentation’ and their subcategory if required. Submissions must secure at least 50% pre-judgment mark to qualify for presentation in the Conference.
  • All the submissions for award categories will be judged by a Screening Committee of Experts and 75% marks allotted. Four best papers in each sub-category will be selected for podium presentation where a panel of judges will judge for remaining 25% marks, and submissions not shortlisted for podium presentation under award categories, will be considered for free oral paper/ E-Poster presentation on basis of their merit.
  • The Delegates will be intimated about the selection result and the Paper/Poster ID by e-mail.
  • For the submission to be considered for the Award, the candidate must present the paper him/herself.
  • Opinion of Judges will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained regarding this.
  • The deadline for all submissions (except thesis) is 15 th October 2024. The deadline for submission under best thesis award category is 15 th October 2024
  • The last date of submission shall not be extended under any circumstances.

  • Full paper (original article) should be submitted along with abstract as MS word files. Abstract alone will not be accepted.
  • Manuscript should be blinded before submission. Submissions with identity of investigators/ authors/ institutions will be rejected.
  • Paper should be formatted in style of journal ‘Indian Paediatrics. Ref to guidelines of formatting at https://indianpediatrics.net/author.php’
  • Each submission should be accompanied by a TITLE PAGE and UNDETAKING BY AUTHORS in the format as given.
  • Students (undergraduate/ postgraduate/ nursing students) should also submit a certificate from the Head of the Dept./Unit Incharge/ Thesis Guide in the format as given.

THESIS AWARDS

  • A Soft copy of complete thesis as pdf file should be uploaded on online portal of conference website www.nzpedicon-harcon2024.com Also send a copy to email id of conference at: nzpediconharcon2024@gmail.com
  • Submit the original pdf version of thesis which was submitted to the university. Thesis completed on and after 1 st January 2022 only will be accepted.
  • Each submission should be accompanied by a TITLE PAGE and UNDETAKING BY INVESTIGATORS (AUTHORS) in the format as enclosed in Annexures.
  • Students should also submit a certificate from the Thesis Guide in the format given.
  • Thesis document should be blinded before submission. Submissions with identity of investigators/ authors/ institutions will be rejected.

FREE PAPER CATEGORY

  • All Submissions to be uploaded at online portal of conference website www.nzpedicon-harcon2024.com Also send a copy to email id of conference at: nzpediconharcon2024@gmail.com
  • Only structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions) need to submitted as MS word file.
  • Abstract should be typed in –Timed New Roman font, font size 12, word limit 250.
  • Submission should be blinded before submission. Submissions with identity of investigators/ authors/ institutions will be rejected.
  • Each submission should be accompanied by a TITLE PAGE and UNDETAKING BY AUTHORS in the format as enclosed in Annexures.
  • Students (undergraduate/ postgraduate/ nursing students) should also submit a certificate from the Head of the Dept./Unit Incharge/ Thesis Guide in the format as given.

E-POSTER

  • All Submissions to be uploaded at online portal of conference website www.nzpedicon-harcon2024.com. Also send a copy to email id of conference at: nzpediconharcon2024@gmail.com
  • Soft Copy of the poster (single slide PPT) should be submitted for E-Poster Presentation. Use tables or figures appropriately.
  • Also refer to the template given below for poster presentation.
  • Each submission should be accompanied by a TITLE PAGE and UNDETAKING BY AUTHORS in the format as enclosed in Annexures.
  • The delegates desirous to present their work as poster presentation should submit under the ‘poster only’ category as per format.

YOUNG PAEDIATRICIAN RESEARCH AWARD

  • Presenting author should be a registered delegate of the conference,
    should be an Indian Citizen, working in IAP North Zone states, age
    40 years or Younger.
  • Post graduate qualifications (DCH/MD/ DNB Paediatrics) or higher degree.
  • The Applicant should provide an undertaking that there is no proven case for ethical misconduct in research or research publication against him/her.
  • All the applicants will be assessed on the basis of submitted research work done by them after postgraduate qualification.
  • Please keep ready following scanned documents/self-attested certificates for uploading on the website in a single PDF.
  • List of documents: (Please provide in word file in table format) ( 75% marks allotted by judges based on credits of research work and publications)
    • 1. Updated CV
    • 2. Qualification certificates & Proof of age (Matric Certificate).
    • 3. Original Research done in Vancouver style along with proof of indexing with impact factor of journal in table format.
    • 4. Any AUTHORSHIP in Monograph/book/chapter in print books with ISSN number.
    • 5. PI/Co-PI in intramural/extramural project. For extramural project of ICMR/DST/Recognised scientific body only.
    • 6. Position held as Editor/Associate editor/Reviewer of journal with impact factor.
  • Three shortlisted researchers will do an oral presentation of 08 minutes on THEME: –‘Your vision regarding child health research in India: Challenges and Opportunities’ in front of a panel of judges, followed by Q & A session for 3 minutes (25% marks).
  • Opinion of Judges will be final and binding.

GUIDELINES FOR ORAL PAPER PRESENTATION

  • Scientific Paper (oral) presentation shall be in the form of a PowerPoint slide presentation to describe your research and may also include figures, tables, and references to highlight important aspects of your work.
  • Slides should be made on Microsoft Power Point in a standard 16:9 size plain Black-white mode (font Arial or Times New Roman)
  • You shall be allotted 11 minutes for your presentation (This includes 8 minutes for your presentation and 3 minutes for Q&A)
  • Number of Slides should not exceed 10 including the introduction and disclosure.
  • Slide #1 must be your title slide with author details and slide #2 must be your disclosure slide. Your disclosure statement should list all commercial relationships relevant to your specific talk. Disclosures must never include the use of a trading name or a product-group message. Slides #3 onwards should contain Introduction, objectives, methods, results and conclusions.
  • Do not give references of any company/product brand names during your presentation on any slide. However, institution logos (e.g., non-company/product logos such as universities, non-profit associations, and Government agencies) are allowed.
  • Bring a copy of your presentation on a flash drive with you.
  • The presenting author should be listed as the first author in the abstract.
  • No author can present more than one paper in award paper category. The same paper (or its modification) cannot be presented as a paper or poster in the other category. Registration and attendance are mandatory for all presenters for obtaining a certificate of participation.
  • The paper submitted should not have been presented earlier in any conference and should not have been awarded a prize elsewhere till the time of final presentation. Papers already published in scientific journals by the time of presentation will also not be considered.
  • The papers should reflect the original work done by the author.
  • The judges reserve the right to disallow the presentation of the award paper if any technical lapse in the concerned paper is brought to their notice at any time before the presentation.
  • The decision of the panel of judges will be final and binding on all concerned.

GUIDELINES FOR E-POSTER PRESENTATION

  • Posters can be submitted from NZPEDICON/HARCON 2024 website. Attach PowerPoint single slide.
  • Poster must be submitted as 1 copy as a Single slide PPT. It is recommended to make your poster in PowerPoint with landscape orientation in a 16:9 ratio.
  • The poster should contain the logo of Indian Academy of Paediatrics. NZPEDICON/HARCON 2024 should be written below the title.
  • Fonts should be large enough to be read clearly when viewing the poster.
  • Contents should be set out in a clear and logical manner, with reading matter reduced to an essential minimum. Lettering, including figure legends, labelling, symbols & graphs etc, should be large enough to be legible at 140cm.
  • You are responsible for being available to answer questions put by a panel of experts about your poster during the assigned time.
  • The top of the Poster should display, the following information: Title of your Paper, Name(s) of the Author(s) and Affiliation(s).
  • Kindly use both UPPER- and lower-case letters for general content, as all-capital text is difficult to read.
  • Make sure there is enough contrast between the colour of the text and the poster’s background.
  • Text and presentation should be in ENGLISH only.
  • The specific sections such as the background, methods, results, and conclusions should be easy to locate in the poster.
  • The text should be easy to read and concise. The poster should have a clear message, a logical layout and should be easy to comprehend.
  • Avoid the use of full sentences and rather use short text in bullet point format.
  • Avoid using watermarks that may detract from the readability of your poster.
  • Colourful charts and graphs are the easiest to read. Explanatory illustrations should be used instead of text whenever possible. Use only static images and do not embed any videos or animation in your poster.
  • Try to utilize the space on your poster as creatively as you can to attract the audience and make sure that the images are easy to understand.
  • Judging will be based on scientific merit, visual presentation and the potential significance of the clinical research.

 

NOTIFICATION OF SELECTION OF PAPERS/ POSTERS

  • The Screening Committee will review abstracts and notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent to the first authors indicated in the papers/Poster, by 25th October 2024.
